Invasion of Taiwan Hyped Up by US Downright False Accusation

INTERNATIONAL: The China Media Group has commented about the US-Taiwan issue. It says that the U.S. has claimed that China's "provocative military behavior" in Taiwan is nothing but groundless accusation and the clumsy performance by certain U.S. politicians cannot stop the historical trend of China's reunification.

In response to a question about alleged China's "invasion" of Taiwan, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken took the opportunity to support the "Taiwan independence" forces by claiming that any move by China to "invade" Taiwan would have "terrible consequences."

The U.S. politicians and some Western media harbour evil intentions in plotting "discourse trap" together to mislead the public. While pledging that the United States would continue to abide by the one-China principle, Blinken has called Taiwan "a country", claiming that he would continue to honor his commitment to helping Taiwan defend itself. Such blatant double dealing shows he has not the slightest credibility as a diplomat of a major country.

Blinken has boldly accused China of "provocative military behavior" in an attempt to shift the blame to China for undermining peace and stability and changing the status quo across the Taiwan Strait. The landing of U.S. military aircraft in Taiwan and frequent sailing of U.S. warships across the Taiwan Strait have proved time and again that the escalated tension across the Taiwan Strait is caused by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities in Taiwan which recalcitrantly stick to the 'Taiwan independence' separatist position by relying on the United States for independence and some people in the U.S. who attempt to contain China by making use of the Taiwan question.

In face of the highly risky move of playing with fire by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), a Taiwanese nationalist and center-left political party in Taiwan (Republic of China). Authorities and the U.S. administration, China has to take necessary countermeasures, which is an absolutely justified move to safeguard national sovereignty and security. No matter how Blinken confuses right and wrong, it cannot change the iron-clad fact that collusion between the U.S. and the DPP authorities is a destructive factor to peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.

Blinken has also mentioned the so-called "Taiwan Relations Act" and the "six assurances" to Taiwan. These are pure concoctions by some forces in the U.S. by putting the U.S. national law above international laws and obligations. They are both illegal and invalid. The U.S. side should abide by the one-China principle and the three China-U.S. joint communiques. They are the political foundation of China-U.S. relations, to which the successive U.S. administrations have all made clear commitments.

Under the current circumstances, Blinken and some other U.S. politicians have stepped up their attempts to play the "Taiwan card" with multiple motives. Domestically, some U.S. politicians intended to shift the blame in the face of failed COVID-19 response and rising inflation. Internationally, the Biden administration's ulterior motive to provide "Taiwan independence" forces with a platform and to contain China's development is clear to all by inviting Taiwan to the so-called summit of democracy it sponsored.

China has time and again made its position clear on the Taiwan question that there is only one China in the world, Taiwan is a part of China, and the government of the People's Republic of China is the sole legal government representing the whole of China. Taiwan question is China's internal affairs that brooks no foreign interference. China will strive for the prospect of peaceful reunification with utmost sincerity and efforts. If the separatist forces seeking "Taiwan independence" resort to provocation, putting pressure or even crosssing the red line, China will be compelled to take resolute measures.

The clumsy performance by certain U.S. politicians, like a mantis trying to stop a chariot, cannot change the well-established global landscape that 180 countries adhere to the one-China principle, nor can it stop the historical trend of China's reunification. The Taiwan question involves China's core interests. Some U.S. politicians must be cautious in their words and actions. No one should underestimate the Chinese people's firm determination, strong resolve and great capability to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
